My District has been doing well. We've set some goals and we're learning 17 verbs a day, and we've already memorized Our Purpose, The First Vision, and the baptismal challenge, so I'm super proud of everyone!
We went contacting in the park across the street from the CCM on Friday, and it was an amazing experience! We paired up with a native Spanish district and I set out with my good friend Elder Zuniga from Honduras! You know in The Best Two Years when they go to buy bread, and the lady says something in Dutch, and he just freezes with a deer in the headlights look? That's kind of how I felt. As soon as I had a Dominican staring me in the face speaking rapid fire Spanish 2000x faster than the teachers speak to us, every single word I'd ever learned just deleted from my memory! haha, I kept trying though, and my job was to introduce ourselves while Elder Zuniga did most of the talking. We met a guy named Antonio, and we talked with him for a while. He started asking some of the deep questions of the soul, and although I didn't understand most of what was said, when Elder Zuniga bore his testimony to the man, I felt the spirit so strongly, and it was absolutely incredible. It was definitely a reminder to me why we're here, and it inspired me to learn as much as I can, so that I can preach to truth to people like Antonio who are searching for answers!
Everything else is pretty much the same here. It's hard work and kind of reminds me of school (ugh) but I love it! I just can't wait to get out there and start teaching. ¡Vida es bien, Dios es mejor!
